Faroe Islands landscape wall sculpture
Faroe Islands landscape wall sculpture
This wall sculpture in raw, unglazed white porcelain composite reveals itself when light moves across it. The Scandinavian landscape sculpture hangs on the wall from an impression at the back of the piece. Very heavy and solid, the piece gives a masculine yet romantic impression.
Atop a small rocky landscape sits a tiny white architectural form. Designed after the stone foundations and grass rooftops of the houses of the Faroe Islands, this modern little form represents a sense of home amidst the rocky islands jutting out of the sea between Iceland and Norway - a land that is breathtakingly pure and naturally beautiful. The two-part sculpture mounts on the wall, and the house can be moved about the top to capture the shadows, the light, and your imagination.
This piece was made by Norwegian sculptor and designer Laurie Poast in Norway. This beautiful, pristine, high quality material is sourced from Switzerland.
